The last few days have been a whirlwind especially due to attending not one, but TWO weddings this weekend. Perhaps a little more than twelve hours between the two would have been nice, but it did allow for some serious “wedding shopping.”
Wedding #1: Meg, one of my roommates in college, was married outdoors Friday night to Nate, and thankfully the weather was quite the contrast from the cold rainy days preceding it. Her bridesmaid dresses were made by a local seamstress (I plan on e-mailing Meg about that once she’s no longer away on honeymoon), and I loved the guys’ grey suits. Admittedly, I would never be brave enough to have an outdoor wedding, but it all worked out and was a beautiful day to get married. Meg was a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor. She and I were very different, but she was a great roommate to have.
Personal Wedding Faves (worth considering for my own): photo book that doubled as a guest book, their one page/postcard invites, crayons and small coloring books available for youngsters, and cheesecake squares. Advice from the great gal sitting next to me – instead of letting people clang dishes for kisses, leave a jar out on the head table. The bigger the bill, the bigger the kiss.
Wedding #2: Allison walked down the aisle to the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack to marry Grant, Scott’s roommate up until Saturday. They had a good mix of vintage and their own personality between the music and vibe of the wedding. The day before the wedding, they rewired the place of their reception to hang all sorts of lights and chandeliers and it was beautiful. Grant and Allison both changed their names… each has an additional middle name and Grant threw in a bit of a twist to his first name when they signed the paper. Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Granticus!
Personal Wedding Faves: their green old classic getaway car, candy bowls for scooping near one of the food stations, the cupcake station, Norah Jones playing at dinner time, and the “eat when you get there, don’t wait for us” policy for guests while the bride and groom took pictures.
Needless to say, I left both weddings with my head spinning of all sorts of new ideas and questions I hadn’t thought of before. My most recent question being – what song should I walk down the aisle to?

Oh yes! Can see why your head is spinning with ideas. There were some good ones listed and great pictures to prove it. It’ll be interesting to watch your plans unfold as you and Scott take ideas and make them your own.
