Pushing three weeks and no blog update, I know. Pitiful. What has been taking up all my time? For starters, work. I just secured a new PR job – hello benefits! This past weekend, we participated in the 48-hour film project with our team, Napkin Sketch. Scott did all the music (of course), and I was an assistant director for the team of 17. To prove we’ve been busy, check it out at the Fleur on Thursday at 7 pm and 9:30 pm. Before that weekend without sleep, Scott’s sister and brother-in-law were in town from North Carolina with our new nephew! Lastly, I’ve been making jell-o runs and tending to a fiancé without wisdom teeth. That’s real love.
Because of all of that, we’ve realized a need to delegate. Being a fairly (or as Scott would say, “uber”) independent person myself, this is a tough thing to do. With the film project, no problem – you do this, I’ll do this, and the workload is less for everyone. But since we’re talking about a wedding here, and my wedding at that, it becomes a bit more difficult. In all fairness, I’m not doing it all by myself. Scott is always there giving thoughts and opinions and offering to help. We will soon be meeting with the church wedding coordinator who told us typically just the bride attends the meeting. Although it doesn’t matter much to me, Scott’s the one setting up the time to meet and is certainly planning on going. That alone should show how involved he’s been in the planning process.
Other than my husband-to-be, we did invite our mothers to be involved. Both of them have been saying how much they want to do the décor – aka the most fun part of wedding planning. Would I love to do it? Heck yes. But, let’s be realistic, I hardly have time to make something fancier than mac and cheese for dinner. So we set up a time for them to get together and sent a few of our favorite pictures along. Only time will tell what they put together based on these ideas from Once Wed.
Okay so, the moose figurines are a joke. But otherwise, be on the lookout for ball jars and sweet candlesticks at garage sales.

Congrats on the job! You most definitely deserve it! Sorry, lame (and slightly creepy, just kidding, I hope…) to post this on your blog, but I don’t have your number. Sidenote – we should resolve that issue!
