About Us

March 5, 2010 we got engaged under white lights, surrounded by candles and flowers. It was everything you’d want in an engagement and we are both more than thrilled. Now comes the hard part – planning a wedding on one of the tightest budgets you could imagine. We want everyone we love (and a few we merely like) to be able to attend but by day three of being engaged, my eyes got wide as I realized these things aren’t cheap. A thrifty garage sale-ing couple like us should be able to manage, but it will be interesting to see just how that turns out.

This blog is about that adventure. We’re young and in love, but also dirt poor. Seven months from now we’ll be wed, but until then, who knows how it will go. Feel free to share your wisdom, advice, and cost-cutting methods for that day of wedded bliss to the one I love.

  1. We were also on a fairly tight budget- but we still wanted to have some fun- we ended up finding a fantastic caterer who made focaccia bread pizza as part of our dinner! Much cheaper and much more fun than a fancy plated dinner!

  2. This is so sweet! What a neat thing to start for the two of you. Best wishes, and I look forward to reading of the many joys and inevitable humorous mishaps to ensue. :)
